Instructions for Use

Also included in the PDF documentation

  1. Use a Subdivision Surface Modifier / Subdivide the mesh to how detailed you want it to be.
  2. Go to Debug panel then switch on Show Max
  3. Set the Maximum Merge setting to how low the detail you want the object to be
  4. Turn off Show Max
  5. Set your Minimum Distance to how close the camera has to be to show the original detail of the object
  6. Set your Maximum Distance to how far the camera will be to the object + Tweak the maximum merge as necessary.
  7. Set substeps to how smooth you want the changes between the LODs to be. The higher the laggier.
  8. In the case of Z fighting, increase the substeps advancement until they disappear. A good rule of thumb is setting the value to half of the substeps.
  9. Tweak any additional settings to your liking. Hover on the input to see what it does.
  10.  Preserve material UVs by plugging in an attribute node with the text “BNUV” (or any text you input in the UV Attribute Name setting) in the material vector.
  11. Bake your settings, or apply the modifier to finalize them. Look for the White Bake node in the geometry nodes modifier itself, set it to animation, and bake.

If you end up liking the addon and it ends up helping you, consider donating! (I'm a broke college student)
